1. Universal Studios
Home classic movie sets and thrilling rides, Universal Studios is a great place to visit. The amusement park offers a wide range of film-inspired rides and a tour of Universal studios movie sets. If rides aren’t your thing, check out Universal’s outdoor mall, City Walk.
2. Hollywood Sign
A classic symbol of Los Angeles, the Hollywood sign is a perfect place to stop. Although you cannot drive to the sign, there are many spots to take photos. Take Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, turn uphill onto Beachwood Canyon Drive and take a photo halfway up the street. For an even closer view, park at the top of Beachwood Canyon Drive and hike about 30 minutes.
3. Grauman’s Chinese Theater
Stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and check out Grauman’s Chinese Theater. This iconic, opulent theater is home to many celebrity handprint and footprints, including the fabulous Marilyn Monroe! You can even snag a photo with one of the many celebrity impersonators outside the theater.
4. J. Paul Getty Museum
Experience the beautiful, simplistic Getty Center next. The Getty houses beautiful gardens and classic art pieces. And unlike other museums, the Getty is always free!
5. Robertson Blvd.
Unlike the funky Melrose Avenue and the infamous Rodeo Drive, Robertson Avenue offers the best of both worlds. This tiny stretch of shopping and dining includes the Ivy restaurant and famous boutiques like Kitson and Madison. Many celebrities come to Robertson to eat and shop and are often followed by a swarm of paparazzi. It is almost a guarantee that you will see at least one star when visiting Robertson.
6. Griffith Park
For the perfect shot of LA, visit Griffith Park. The best place in the park is the Griffith Observatory, where you can learn about the astronomy and the history of universe while taking in gorgeous views of the city and its neighborhoods.
7. Malibu
As one of LA’s most famous beaches, Malibu is a prime location to visit. Unlike the overcrowded beaches of Venice and Santa Monica, Malibu offers a sleepy atmosphere perfect for a relaxing beach experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
