1. Plan your outfits
You’ll find that a small amount of clothing can make endless outfit combinations if planned strategically. There’s several tools you can use to make this easier, some of our favorites are: Polyvore and StyleBook.

2. Make a checklist
Having a checklist will ensure that you don’t forget anything. You can use websites like Travels’ Checklist to generate a checklist depending on where and when you’re going.

3. Pack only the jewelry you will use
When traveling with jewelry, it’s a good idea to invest in some sort of case to keep it organized. If you don’t want to splurge on a jewelry organizer, use a pill case or baseball card organizer. For necklaces, loop the chain through a bendy straw to keep it from getting knotted and tangled. To keep stud earrings together, put the backs onto a simple button.

4. Bring double duty items
A tote can be your carry-on. A top or dress that can be dress up or down. You get the idea. Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere has some other great pointers. Check her blog post here: http://cupcakesandcashmere.com/beauty/travel-prep-pointers

5. Bring sample size beauty products
Travel smart by planning ahead and visiting your local department store to gather sample sizes of beauty products. If they don’t make samples for things you need, create your own travel-sized products by using small containers like contact lenses or old lip gloss jars.
